More than ever, as a tanning salon owner, you’ve got to be looking for ways to make the most of every tanning customer that walks through your doors. Today, I want to share a great tip for maximizing each client. It relates to tanning product bundles.

If you can make the buying decision simple and easy for each client, you will generate more sales, guaranteed. Don’t we all love the sound of that?

 

I’d like to call this tip – the Beauty Bundle. It’s not my idea, really, it’s been done in so many businesses from mobile phones to spas. Well, the tanning industry is no different.

Maximizing every client = increased sales. Simple right? Well, let’s take a closer look at one way to do this without spending more money, and without deep discounts.


Let’s Get This Party Started

  1. Take one of your BEST selling lotions – don’t use this as an opportunity to get rid of dead stock.
  2. Put it together with an after-tan lotion and maybe a facial bronzer or accessory.
  3. You could sell all of these for full retail price (resist the urge to discount, you’ll thank me later)
  4. Wrap it all up in an inexpensive little reusable bag.
  5. Throw in some free upgrades (minimal cost to you).
  6. Place it at the front counter with some bling and glam.

For example, try an accelerator for $60 (the buyers sweet spot price point) add a tan extender lotion for $17 and a facial bronzer for $26. Total retail $103, sell it for $99 and include 3 Free Upgrades to your Highest Level Bed or Sunless. So now you have a total package valued at over $175 worth of product and services — a tanning product bundle or as I like to call it, the Beauty Bundle.  And of course, your clients will have the most amazing, gorgeous tan! And they feel like they’ve just saved $75!

When it comes to tanning product bundles or anything really, train your staff well, and require them to tell every client about your offer! No exceptions! If you or your sales staff show excitement and have bought in to the product, you’ll be selling machines!
